Centor has solved the problem of screening large openings with its horizontal retractable insect screen system. Openings as wide as 7.6 m can now be effectively and unobtrusively screened, with the robust system operating with just the touch of a fingertip.
The Centor screen completely retracts into the doorjamb when not in use. The mesh is sheer, and there are no grills or horizontal bars to detract from the view. The screen is barely noticeable when in use, and completely disappears when you don’t need it.
The screens were designed specifically for use with folding doors with the aim of preserving the vistas created by a bi-folding opening.
Centor built its reputation for systems that operate with just the touch of a fingertip with its folding door systems. Centor brought this same dedication to ease of use when it developed its screens. One major consideration during the screen’s development was its ‘liveability’. It thus had to pass the ‘barbecue test’ where a person must be able to operate the screen easily, with a tray of drinks or food in hand.
The screen can be opened and shut from any height on the stile, so even small children can operate it. With no crude spring loading to fight against, the screen remains firmly in any chosen position across the opening. This is thanks to Centor’s patent pending Load Balancing Technology™.
Centor designed its screens specifically to solve the problem of protecting the large-scale openings created by its folding door systems. With the ability to screen openings up to 7.6 m wide and 3.2 m tall, there are very few openings Centor can’t protect from insects.
Installing screens means you can leave your doors open more often, increasing ventilation and reducing air-conditioner use.
Centor screens are tough enough to withstand real-life use, backed by a five-year warranty. Exhaustive cycle testing to 400,000 cycles, and exposure to dust, mud, sand and salt spray ensure reliable operation well beyond its five year warranty. The system has also withstood impact testing with a 17 kg punching bag 100 times, as well as thorough poking, prodding and pushing from Centor’s Research and Development staff.
The screen is made from a hardwearing polyester/PVC material that can withstand damage from pets. Tight Technology™ ensures the screen remains straight and tight across the widest spans.
Centor’s unobtrusive blind system allows you to control privacy, sunlight and temperature with the fingertip operation synonymous with all Centor systems. Its remarkable thermal insulation helps improve energy efficiency in your home and is suitable for use with bifold and sliding doors and French windows and doors. Centor blind systems come in a range of fabrics to suit your décor. Blind fabric: White, sand, light grey, dark grey, dark brown, charcoal
You can also combine a blind and insect screen in the one unit in the S1E Combo Screen (suits for openings up to 3.9m wide and 2.45 m tall).
